Puerto Rico has a strong cultural identity making it feel as if it's not part of U.S territory.. Situated in the Atlantic Ocean, Puerto Rico located East of Dominican Republic and West of the Virgin Islands (British and U.S.) and is easily one of the best places to visit anytime of the year. With white sandy beaches and 80-degree sushine year-round, Puerto Rico is a match made in heaven for people seeking to soak up sun in paradise 🌴

Tropical Island

Where paradise lies...

With 270 miles of sandy white beaches and pure blue waters, Puerto Rico should be on everyone's #Bucketlist. There are beautiful sandy shores full of rich coral home to some of the most exotic fish and marine life.

The quality of all beaches, including black and pink sand beaches is what makes Puerto Rico different from any other. Some are regarded as the most beautiful beaches in the world.

wherE to stay

As a Mariott Bonvoy member, I decided to stay at one of their local chain hotels. That's when I stumbled upon this beachfront hotel in San Juan, Puerto Rico. This very chic, tropical, modern, and the atmosphere is the epitome of Latin luxury in many ways. It's centrally located in the lively area of San Juan that carefully craft cocktails, lounge/chill areas surrounded by nature, and lively Puerto Rican rhythms playing in the background on each block.

The food here in Puerto Rico is culturally authentic all while esthetically pleasing..  I was told from my hotel concierge the food would be best served from the local restaurants instead of "popular" spots.

I decided to visit Old San Juan to one of the most known locals around. See here

Things to Do

Explore at your own risk! Some of these activities listed below range from a relaxed stroll to extreme hikes/activities.

Whether you're into land, water, or air activities, there are many things to do here in Puerto Rico.  Tours ranging from one hour up to a full eight hours gives everyone of all ages a chance to explore this place. From walking tours around Old San Juan, horse back riding, sipping a classic Pina Colada, to rum-tasting, you can assure there's never a dull moment in Puerto Rico. Here are a few of my favorite things to do:

1. Snorkel or scuba dive tour
2. Catamaran/Yacht tours
3. Cave tours
4. Kayaking Tours
5. Hiking Tours
6. Rum Tasting

Enchanted Forest
Off the beaten path, there's a hidden paradise that has almost 28,000 acres of dense jungle that continues to thrive on 120 inches of rain each year. Submerge yourself in lush tropical palm trees of it all. Hike the many trails, take a dip in the fresh abyss of the waterfalls, surround yourself in the sounds of natures very own exotic birds/animals/flowers.

  • Puerto Rico has the largest Rum distillery in the world (Casa Bacardi)

  • Puerto Rico holds the 3rd-highest density in the U.S and is home to approximately 3.2 million people

  • The oldest churches in the Americas are located in Old San Juan
