A Home Away From Home

I spent 30 days in a quiet and quaint bungalow in the jungles of Tulum, Mexico. I've visited Tulum approximately 5 times in the past years (even before the commercialized Tulum as we know it is today) and each time I fell more in love with its people, food, culture, adventures, and atmosphere. See where I stayed to keep me comfortable and night and feeling fresh in the morning:

Located in the Mexican state of Quintana Roo and lies on the Caribbean coastline of the Yucatan Peninsula, Tulum is one of the most toured places in 2020.. Throughout the year Tulum is a hotspot for international and local tourist for relaxation, day adventures, and nights out on the town with your family/friends. You'll find each hotel/home/structure having a biophilic architecture which connects you with nature.

Although I've visited Mexico several times in the past, this trip was different from any other Mexican vacation I've ever been on. Why? I spent 30 days in a bungalow! During the pandemic, Mexico was one of the first countries to open its borders to Americans. I was very weary about traveling during the pandemic, but decided to take a chance and GO! Best decision ever!

This bungalow in particular is brand new. Having opened earlier this year (2020) it's definitely a pleasure to be one of the first people to enjoy this gorgeous paradise. I was welcomed by the owner and his pitbull named Billie. The owner is a local of Tulum and married to a sweet Canadian woman. They decided to build a bungalow to start their family and to keep it as their home. Soon after they were finished (and out of curiosity) they decided to build a row of similar bungalows, transforming this piece of wild jungle into tropical styled bungalows of dreams. Now 3 years later, I'm able to see what their hard work was for and what a pleasure to stay here!

I rented a car during my stay and found it was literally within 1 mile from the touristic hotspot beach strip and 2 blocks away from Tulum's local main strip for cheap food tucks, affordable retail, and delicious restaurants. If you're up for it, I would suggest seeing nearby cenotes which were within 2 miles from the property.

You can rent one or all five bungalows if they're available. Each bungalow is completely different from the next, but all have a calming vibe with exquisite wooden décor. Some differences include  exteriors, kitchens, rooms, bathrooms, patios, and other personal touches so you don't feel as if you're in a hotel, but in an actual home. The property has gorgeous walkways surrounded by untouched tropical trees leading to different areas of this place. If you're not in the mood for adventures during the day or nightlife, feel free to lounge the property absorbing the sounds of nature. Enjoy fresh squeezed organic handmade juices before getting your day started or to replenish the energy lost during your daily exploration. Watching the sunrise/sunset rays peeking through the trees was a divine, yet fragile moment that I'll keep with me forever. Take a walk around the property during this time you can feel the sun touching your skin with each peek. Such a lovely feeling. When it rained, it feels as if all of my sins were washing away. The crushing sounds of the rain hitting the large Colocasia (people refer to it as Elephant Ears) is what I imagined when thinking of a tropical jungle paradise. If you're wanting to be submerged in nature or to have a unique experience, I would recommend staying here.

I look forward to staying here again on my next visit to Tulum :)
